STEM Academy teacher talks science on radio show

Robin Howard, PLTW Biomedical Science Teacher at the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Academy at Lee High School, participated as an expert guest on News Talk 930 AM KLUP for TECH CITY USA radio. 

The one-hour show on Feb. 16 featured NEISD’s Robin Howard, teacher at STEM Academy, along with Linda Pruski and Dr. Steve Austad from the UT Health Science Center San Antonio. 

The show focused on “Inspiring Future Talent in the Bioscience Sector.”  The panel discussed the importance of technology-based 21st century industries in the San Antonio economy and the importance of educating our children in STEM for the current and future biomedical science jobs.

This is the second time Howard has been on the radio show this year.  He was featured on Jan. 19 to discuss the value of the Biomedical Science Program for students. Howard shared success stories and challenges that both the students and program face in the future.
