School Music videos encourage staar test-takers

North East ISD students are starting the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exams, and some are really excited about it. Schools throughout NEISD have created videos to motivate their students for the exam.

El Dorado Elementary School

El Dorado Elementary School produced this music video, La Vida ELDO, to encourage students to do their best. Part of the song includes the message "We've worked so hard. Come so far. Let's pass the STAAR."

Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, Superintendent of Schools, even made a guest appearance in the video to show his support for the students taking the STAAR.

Northwood Elementary School

Teachers at Northwood Elementary School had a great time creating a video for STAAR using the music from the blockbuster movie, Frozen. The campus showed the video during morning announcements and will continue to show the video during the upcoming STAAR tests this month.

The video was created and produced by teachers Heather Miller and Kelly Richter. Jennifer Kalanquin, music teacher, performed the song for the video.

Woodstone Elementary School

The fifth grade teachers at Woodstone Elementary School put together a hilariously creative slideshow for STAAR preperations.

STAAR includes more difficult testing and requires a higher level of student performance. These tests are designed to measure a student's college and career readiness. For more information about the STAAR system, click here. To see the NEISD District Testing Calendar, click here.
