Roosevelt's rocketry team attends White House Science Fair

Roosevelt High School's rocketry team has taken its project all the way to the White House. The all-girls team attended the third annual White House Science Fair Monday, April 22.

Isabella Leighton, Ruth Long and Dalia Castillo are all freshmen the Engineering & Technologies Academy (ETA) at Roosevelt. The White House invited 100 students from 40 states to share their projects.

The Roosevelt team will compete in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) on May 11. There they will be challenged to launch their rocket exactly 750 feet high in 48 to 50 seconds.

Team met the Presidents Advisor.

The team met Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President, and Kal Penn, Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
