Roosevelt seniors inspire next generation of graduates
Roosevelt High School graduates participated in the first Senior Parade--an event they hope becomes a tradition. Roosevelt graduates boarded a bus immediately following their graduation rehearsal on May 30. Schools visited included Royal Ridge, Windcrest, Montgomery and Camelot elementary schools, as well as White Middle School.
"Our graduates wanted to give back to the community as they were able to give many of our young students their first opportunity to see an actual graduate," said Roosevelt Counselor Carolyn Lockamy. "Roosevelt wants to aid in our community's awareness that there is a 'Commitment to Graduate.'"
Many of our seniors were able to reconnect with past teachers and coaches.
"It was a wonderful experience for our students--young and old," said Lockamy.
Many of the younger students asked the seniors what they were wearing, what they plan to do after high school.
"It was amazing to see our seniors dressed in their graduation regalia interacting with our little ones," said Lockamy.
