Roan Forest competes at math event
Five Roan Forest Elementary School students participated in the San Antonio city-wide 5th grade Math Contest sponsored by The School of Science and Technology (SST) on Saturday, Feb. 9.
There are two rounds at the contest. In the first round, students took an individual test focusing on pre-algebra, geometry, probability, numbers and operations, mental math, and speed math.
The second round is the Countdown Round, a fast-paced, oral competition for top-scoring students from the individual test. Students were paired up to compete against each other and the clock to solve problems.
Chaitanya Eranki and Eshu Devi Reddy completed the written portion.Aadith Menon finished in the top 30. Rithvik Pakala finished seventh overall. Jared McGlothlin placed fifth overall. He won an iPod shuffle.
