NEISD journalism students win awards at state convention
Several student publication students from NEISD attended and placed at the 2011 Texas Association of Journalism Educator’s Annual Fall Fiesta state journalism convention held at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel on October 22-24.
Sessions covering all aspects of scholastic journalism were offered and writing, design, broadcast and photography contests were held on-site as well as for carry in.

Over 1,000 students attended the convention with 0ver 700 competing for a chance to win on the state level. Reagan is among the top tier of scholastic journalists to place at the convention.
Also, Reagan Publications Adviser Monique Sandoval was among several featured
convention speakers. Sandoval gave a session on launching online newspapers and how
to increase your readership.
