Reagan JROTC honored veterans for Memorial Day
During the Memorial Day weekend, the Reagan High School JROTC Cadets participated in events that honored our veterans.
On Saturday, May 25th, the cadets visited the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg. There the students learned about the Pacific Theater battles of World War II. In addition, they experienced the sights and sounds of combat on a Pacific island as American Marine re-enactors move into capture enemy soldiers. The Living History program employed landing craft, tanks, explosive charges and flame throwers to illustrate the equipment, weapons and tactics used by American Army and Marine forces.
On Monday, May 27th members of the Reagan JROTC Color Guard presented the colors at an HEB Military Appreciation Ceremony. The event took place at the HEB at 1604 and Blanco Road. Guests of honor included members of the San Antonio Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen. They shared their experiences as the first African American pilots for the Army Air Corp.
