PTA raises $40,000 for schools
The North East Council of PTAs said its annual Used Book Sale was a big success. With the help of all the volunteers, they raised $40,000.
"This was one of our best book sales ever!" said Stacy Husted, chair of the Used Book Sale. "We couldn't have done it without all the volunteers."
Retired teachers, PTA members and their spouses, community members, and students from The Academy of Creative Education (ACE) all donated their time to sort, organize, and sell books at the four-day event at Blossom Athletic Center.
The floor of Littleton Gym was packed with nearly 80,000 books. They were sold at a very low price to the public. The books not sold at the event were donated to the Wounded Warrior Project San Antonio and local children's charities.
The PTA has already announced the dates for next years Used Book Sale: April 11-13.
Nearly 80,000 books were donated to the Used Book Sale.
