Nimitz fencer wins gold

Nimitz Middle School student Julian Maldonado won the gold medal in a fencing tournament Sunday, Jan. 27.

Maldonado won the top prize for the Youth 14 Fencers at the 30th Annual Poujardieu Memorial Fencing Tournament in San Marcos.

Maldonado finished in 11^th place in the Cadet Category (up to age 17) at the Capitol Clash Super Youth Circuit Tournament in Washington DC February 16 .
