NEISD ranked among best high schools
Two national magazines have released annual reports of America's high schools. NEISD’s high schools have been ranked as some of the best public schools in the country, according U.S. News and World Reports and The Washington Post.
The Washington Post listed eight NEISD high schools on its list of America's Most Challenging High Schools. NEISD is proud to have more schools on the list than other district in the area. MacArthur, Johnson, International School of the Americas (ISA), Roosevelt, Lee, Reagan, Madison and Churchill high schools all made the list. Click here for the full report.
U.S. News and World Reports released its list of the Best High Schools Ranking 2013. U.S. News teamed up with American Institutes for Research to evaluate and rank more than 21,000 public high schools.
The schools were ranked according to state proficiency standards and college readiness.
International School of the Americas (ISA) received a gold medal. ISA is ranked 29 in Texas and 215 in the nation.
Reagan High School received a silver medal. Reagan is ranked 56 in Texas and 514 in the nation.
Lee High School received a silver medal. Lee is ranked 176 in Texas and 2020 in the nation.
Texas is home to the number one public high school in the country. The School for the Gifted and Talented in Dallas was once again named the best in the country.
Of 21,000 high schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia, the top 500 schools earned a gold medal. U.S. News awarded 1,790 schools a silver medal and 2,515 schools a bronze medal.
