NEISD hosts unity conference to promote acceptance
NEISD high school students united to learn how to promote acceptance and diversity on campus. Each high school selected 20-30 people to attend the Unity Conference Thursday, October 30. Students from Churchill, Johnson, Lee, MacArthur, Madison, Reagan and Roosevelt high schools each shared ideas.
This year's theme was Ripple Effect - how our actions can affect others positively or negatively.During the event, students learned what it means to accept others and how to spread that message to the student body.
Roosevelt Students worked in groups to create an action plan for their campus.
Madison's Unity Club spent the day sharing ideas with other schools.
Johnson students bonded and created an action plan.
