NEISD hosts fall Unity Conference
TIME: 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Piper Bass Student Center, 12002 Jones Maltsberger
NEISD will hold its annual Fall Unity Conference on Friday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Piper Bass Student Center.
The purpose of the conference is to bring together high school students from across the district to share their ideas on improving school climate. The focus for this year's conference is for each of the high school campuses to take on the challenge of becoming a "No Place for Hate" school.
A "No Place for Hate" school seeks to provide a model for combating intolerance, bullying and hatred, leading to long-term solutions to these problems in schools. It provides a unique opportunity to incorporate new and existing programs with one consistent message and connects a participating school to a larger initiative taking place in the region and in other cities across the nation.
