NEISD presents the 2014 summer graduates
North East ISD can add 55 graduates to the Class of 2014. Those students needed the summer to complete work in order to walk the stage and receive their diplomas.
"Take your high school diploma and do something special. Pursue your dreams," said Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, Superintendent of Schools. "We are all very proud of you."
The students representing each high school wore their school colors at the graduation ceremony at Reagan High School Tuesday, August 12. Their school principals handed them their diplomas at the event in front of their families and friends.
"We are finally here," said Galen Jorrie, graduate from the Academy of Creative Education. "We have been dreaming of this for four years. Well, four years and a couple of months."
Some students credit their teachers for getting them through.
"I never imagined I would graduate," said Miguel Barajas, graduate from Churchill High School. "I kept coming back for a better future. My teachers were very encouraging. They told me to do my best, and that made me not give up."
