neisd welcomes student teachers

On Oct. 30, North East ISD held a Student Teacher Reception to formally welcome the 121 student teachers working at our campuses during the 2012-2013 school year.

They, along with their mentor teachers and principals, were honored for the special role they play.

"Student teachers who come to North East ISD have an opportunity to learn from the best," said Karin Stanley, Human Resources director. "We, in turn, get to see and hear new and fresh ideas from these student teachers, which our current teachers can implement in the classroom. More importantly, our students see these college students and learn that teaching can be a viable profession with many rewarding opportunities."

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian G. Gottardy and Executive Director of Human Resources Joel Trevino helped to make the presentations.

Our student teachers represent 19 different universities and colleges and will work with NEISD teachers and students for one to two semesters.
