NEISD hosts special Olympics track and field competition
North East ISD special education students hit the field for the annual Special Olympics Track and Field Competition at Blossom Athletic Center.
NEISD PALS teamed up with athletes for the day. Parents, teachers, coaches, cheerleaders, and school mascots were there cheering for the competitors. Students started the day by reciting the Athlete's Oath, then four students carried the torch around the track.
Boys and girls participated in different running events and field events throughout the day. Students were so excited to be competing in the events they have been training for since January. After the races, students were awarded ribbons and posed for pictures.
