Welcome Back! NEISD students start new school year
More than 68,000 students of the North East Independent School district started their new school year on Monday, August 27. Buses were filled with students ready for school. Many parents helped their young children find their classroom and teacher. More than 4,000 teachers greeted their students as they arrived to class today. Cafeterias were ready to serve breakfast to early arrivers. School grounds and facilities were in top-notch order, waiting to be filled with busy students.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian Gottardy, along with members of his Executive Staff, spent the day visiting campuses and greeting students and families.
NEISD is home to 65 campuses and 11 magnet programs. The district strives to bring a variety of academic and extra-curricular opportunities to students, believing that a 360-education will help maintain its tradition of excellence.
