NEISD celebrates National School Lunch Week, guest servers
North East celebrated National School Lunch Week Oct. 15 - 19.
Guest were invited to help serve lunch. Guest servers included Board of Trustees members, NEISD Superintendent and Executive Staff, school administration as well as Leadership North East and PTA embers.
Studies have shown that students who participate in the school lunch program consume twice the servings of fruits and vegetables and greater amounts of grains and dairy than children who eat lunch brought from home. A healthy diet can prevent illness, particularly important during the flu season.
