NEISD middle school bands advance to State

NEISD middle school bands continued their tradition of excellence in the Texas Honor Band Competition by advancing two schools to state--Lopez and Jackson.

The Honor Band process began with Region competition that advanced only two bands from each classification. This year, Lopez and Tejeda bands both advanced from Region to Area in 3C while Jackson advanced in 2C. At the Area competition, Lopez ranked first in the 3C competition while Jackson ranked second in 2C, advancing both schools to the state competition to be held in conjunction with the Texas Bandmasters Clinic and Convention on July 24, here in San Antonio.

NEISD was the only San Antonio school district to have any middle school bands advance to state.

Congratulations to Andy Post and Kim Garza at Lopez; Kim Rosenberg and Eddie Rios at Jackson; Bernard Rosenberg, Shawna Lien, and Chad Taylor at Tejeda and all of the students involved for this achievement.
