NEISD hosts GIS day
DATE:
Nov. 18
TIME: 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
LOCATION: Community Learning Center, 8750 Tesoro Dr.
NEISD will host the annual GIS Day on Friday, Nov. 18 from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Community Learning Center--GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems. GIS Day brings in students from across San Antonio to learn how to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data. Alex Garcia, Chief Meteorologist from KABB (Channel 29), will be the keynote speaker for the event.
The goal of GIS is to use study data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts. A GIS helps answer questions and solve problems by looking at data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared.
This event is sponsored by: Alamo Area GIS (a chapter from SCAUG – South Central Arc Users Group).
