NEISD Board approves pay raise for employees

North East ISD's Board of Trustees approved a 2% pay increase plus a 1% retention supplement for all employees at its regular board meeting Monday, June 17, 2013.

Starting July 1, district employees will receive a 2% general pay increase calculated off the midpoint of the new 2013-2014 pay grades. Employees hired on or before October 1, 2013 and employed through the end of the school year will also receive the 1% retention supplement. That lump sum will be paid in June of 2014. Temporary and substitute employees, along with employees who work less than 20 hours per week are not eligible for the retention supplement.

"I would love to do even more, but I also feel good about being able to give this much-deserved raise. Our employees work so hard, and I appreciate everything they do," said Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, Superintendent of Schools.

The approved compensation plan will cost the district a total of $11.4 million for the 2013-2014 school year.
