January is National School Board Recognition month
January is National School Board Recognition month--a time to thank our Board of Trustees for the dedication and great service they provide to North East ISD. The NEISD Board of Trustees is made up of seven individuals:
"North East ISD is blessed to be led by such a strong group of individuals," said Dr. Brian Gottardy, superintendent of schools. "Each unique personality brings a great deal of diplomacy to our district. The care and honest desire to put children first is most evident in our board's dedication." NEISD Board of Trustees comes from all walks of life, investing hundreds of hours in the community for no compensation. They are individuals, each with unique strengths and knowledge. Yet, they come together as a team to combine their individual strengths with one mission in mind: help students achieve. Board members contribute a great deal of time each year leading this school district. They craft policies, hire top-notch administrators, listen to staff and student concerns as a board and recognize outstanding programs. The time spent in board meetings represents just a small fraction of the hours school board members devote. They also attend seminars and training sessions that inform them of the latest trends in educational leadership. They are deeply involved in community activities, and spend many hours in school and at extracurricular events. They travel to Austin on their own time and money to meet with state lawmakers and explain how their laws will help or hinder public school students and their families. The position of a school board member entails an endless string of meetings and school functions; reams of reports, agendas, proposals and other information to read and study; and a host of difficult decisions to make. Thank you NEISD Board Members. |
