Hundreds came out to the Omni Colonnade to support the NEEF mission and raise money for the Foundation.  Guests mingled and browsed the Silent and Live Auction items.  Auction items included sports memorabilia, jewelry, trips and various artworks.

David Chancellor, sports anchor for News 4 WOAI and Lee High School graduate, was the emcee for the evening. During the Gala Lisa Vieger, Anne Joy and Jennifer Schaefer were all honored as NEISD Teachers of the Year on the elementary, middle and high school levels.

A highlight of the evening came when Superintendent Dr. Brian Gottardy along with executive staff members Ron Clary and Dan Villarreal auctioned off their chef skills and made Bananas Foster for the table with the highest bidder.

This year’s Gala raised $105,000 which will go directly back into the classrooms to help teachers light the future for all students in the North East Independent School District.

“Without the gala and golf tournament we would not be able to fund the requests from the campuses.  Last year we funded $138,000 in projects for campuses, and the requests increase each year.  We hope to fulfill as many as possible this year,” said Patti Mezzatesta, NEEF Executive Director. “We thank all of our donors for their continued support.”
