NEISD schools awarded Lowe's grants
Montgomery Elementary School was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Lowe's Project Toolbox to build a learning garden. The garden will be used during the school year by PK - fifth grade classes to grow vegetables, fruits, and flowers. They will use the garden to study organisms, environments, and life cycles.
Oak Grove Elementary School was also been selected to receive a 2011-2012 Lowe's Toolbox for Education Grant in the amount of $3,000 for the Green Club Project. The mission of this project is to improve the landscape at Oak Grove, while teaching the importance of taking care of our habitat. Green Club members will be responsible for maintaining and taking care of the project needs.
