MacArthur student wins $10,000 scholarship

MacArthur High School student Connor McInerney won a $10,000 scholarship at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo for equestrian riding Feb. 12.

Connor took All Around High Point and earned the San Antonio Livestock Exposition (S.A.L.E) Scholarship to be used at any Texas university.

Connor entered the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Horse Show with his horse Diplomatic Pine. 

Each year S.A.L.E. awards three scholarships to youth age 14-18 who compete in three or more disciplines: Western, English, Speed, and Halter.  The competitor with the most points overall takes High Point and earns the $10,000 scholarship.
