Lopez band members reach new record

Lopez Middle School band members competed in the Region 12 Band competition recently and shattered several school records. Lopez had the highest mark of chairs earned in the entire region. Lopez earned 38 total chairs in region band and 13 total in region orchestra. Lopez earned seven first chairs and 5 second chairs. (All are new Lopez records.)

Band directors Andy Post and Kim Garza couldn't be more proud. "These kids have a drive like none I have ever seen before. The work ethic around the band hall is incredible. These kids never cease to amaze me," said Post.

"I'm so proud of all the kids for representing Lopez in such an incredible way," Garza added.

The region members will join other region members from schools in the San Antonio and surrounding areas for clinics/concerts.
