Lopez kicks off library week with a movie night

The Lopez Middle School library hosted a Movie Night Friday, April 12. The event was a lead-in to National Library Week celebrations (April 15 - 20). The idea was to highlight a movie that originated from a book; Alice in Wonderland, the Tim Burton version was the selection.

Students were encouraged to come dressed as any book character for a costume contest. Two lucky winners received Barnes & Noble gift cards.

Popcorn and beverages were offered and at the end of the movie each student was able to select a free book to take home.

The library will continue to observe National Library Week with several contests, an "Express Yourself" t-shirt day, and some online fun.
