Lopez students send 'box of love,' support Sandy Hook
TIME: all day
LOCATION: Lopez ES,
23103 Hardy Oak Blvd.
Lopez Middle School is sending a box of love and support to Sandy Hook Elementary. The students at Lopez are making posters and cards to show support and love for their fellow students in Connecticut.
"We share their pain and with heartfelt sympathy want to show our support and send our love and prayers from Texas to Connecticut," said Principal Dr. Barry Lanford. "We want to let them know that they are not alone and that we stand by them."
The hand print and heart shaped notes with different hand painted backgrounds have various messages such as: Love and hugs from Lopez Middle School where we share your pain, We share your grief, We are keeping you in our prayers, You are in our hearts and in our prayers, You are not alone, and We stand with you.
"These and various messages handmade from the students at Lopez are being mailed to convey our solidarity with Sandy Hook," said Richard Behrens, counselor.
