Lopez Staff and Volunteers Honored as Life Members
Each December the Lopez Middle School PTA recognizes individuals from our school community with special PTA Awards. The recipients are individuals who give exemplary service in support of children.
The Texas Life Membership Award is a great honor that the state PTA bestows on an individual. This year the Lopez PTA recognized two faculty members, Pete Darnall and Jeff Felty, as well as parent volunteers Paula Hilken and Melissa Mistich. In addition, parent volunteer, Colleen Douglas, was recognized with a National PTA Life Achievement Award. Colleen received her Texas Life Membership from the Hardy Oak Elementary PTA several years ago and has continued in service to children since that time. This award is the highest honor given out by the National PTA.
"Congratulations to all these recipients," said Dr. Barry Lanford, principal. " Thank you for the work you have done, and will no doubt continue to do, in support of our children and community."
