Lee science teacher wins Science Education Award

Lee High School science teacher Robin Howard received an honorable mention for the 2013 Science Education Awards.

The Texas Biomedical Foundation Forum and V. H. McNutt Memorial Foundation awarded Mr. Howard $500 for the development of a sustainable garden on the campus of Lee High School.

Mr. Howard plans to get middle and elementary feeder schools involved along with the community to teach them how to build, maintain, and harvest from the soilless garden design.

The foundations award area high school science departments for their innovative programs.
