Lee student finalist for entrepreneurial award
The National Association of Women Business Owners San Antonio (NAWBO-SA) hosted its 15th Annual Gala March 19 at the Oak Hills Country Club. The theme was Celebrating Women of Excellence, Commitment and Ingenuity.
This year, Jocelyn Hernandez, a Lee High School student, was a finalist for the organization's 2014 Entrepreneurial Connections Teen Mentoring Award: Fostering the Entrepreneurial Dream six-month business curriculum. She received a check for $1,000 from the foundation.
NAWBO-SA inspires and mentors the next generation of women entrepreneurs. Business plans submitted by students are judged by NAWBO-SA members and partners. Winners are selected based on a final score.
Mistress of Ceremonies was newscaster, Ursula Pari. Other guests included Bexar County Sheriff Susan Pamerleau and Texas Fourth District Court of Appeals Judge Sandee Bryan Marion.
