Lee students participate in SWAT program

DATE: Feb. 7
TIME: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center

Lee High School students under the direction of Myra Pilant and Yvonne Arredondo are participating in San Antonio Water System (SAWS) Education Department’s SWAT program (Student Water Action Team). SWAT is a service-learning educational program developed by SAWS for area students and teachers with a concern for the San Antonio community’s water resources.

Lee's SWAT will represent their school at "Confluence," a youth water summit to be held February 7, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. This groundbreaking event will bring high school students from all parts of the city together to learn about water issues facing our community and what they can do to make a difference. Students will generate ideas, investigate issues and resources, and learn how community cooperation can effect changes.
