Las Lomas performs at texas state Capitol
The Las Lomas Honor Choir was invited by State Rep. Lyle Larson to perform at the Texas State Capitol Tuesday, May 21.
The 48 fourth and fifth grade students from the choir made the trip to Austin. They performed for 30 minutes in the rotunda for an audience filled with state lawmakers. Students sang patriotic songs like Texas, Our Texas and God Bless America as well as Leader in Me songs like You Can Have It All. The program ended with the Las Lomas School Song.
The students took a guided tour of the Capitol. Afterwards, students went to lunch at Fuddruckers for an awards ceremony for the choir.
Leigh Anne Roeber, music teacher from Las Lomas, said the students had a blast. She said this trip would not have been possible without the support of the choir parents and the Las Lomas PTA.
Las Lomas Honor Choir represents their new campus and school district at the Capitol.
Following a guided tour of the Capitol, the Honor Choir visited the House of Representatives.
