Las Lomas teacher is finalist for TCEA Educator Award
Lisa Carnazzo of North East ISD was chosen as a finalist in the Classroom Teacher of the Year category of the 2012-2013 TCEA Educator Awards.
Carnazzo seamlessly integrates technology into her second grade classroom, involving students and parents alike with Web 2.0 tools and social media sites. She is known throughout NEISD and beyond for her technical knowledge and integration ideas.
Each year, TCEA recognizes some of the most tech-savvy educators in the country with the annual TCEA Educator Awards. Nominated by their peers, the recipients of these awards are actively making a difference in their classrooms and on their campuses, innovating teaching and learning every day.
Awards are offered in the following categories:
• Classroom Teacher of the Year
• Library Media Specialist of the Year
• Instructional Technology Specialist of the Year
• Technical Support Person of the Year
• District or Campus Administrator of the Year
• Superintendent of the Year
• Technology Administrator of the Year
• Lifetime Achievement for the Advancement of Technology in Education
This year, recipients of the eight awards each received engraved plaques and $1,000 from TCEA.
Two finalists per award received plaques and $500 each. All finalists and recipients were honored at a special reception and program at TCEA Convention & Exposition in Austin, Texas. With family and friends in attendance, TCEA recognized the accomplishments of these exemplary educators.
TCEA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the integration of technology and education
into curriculum and instruction. It has more than 14,000 members across the country.
