Soldier surprises son and daughter at larkspur
Chief Petty Officer Miguel Avila of the U.S. Army Reserves, teacher at Johnson High School, returned from from serving overseas for nine months on Friday, December 6. He was able to surprise both of his children at Larkspur Elementary School.
His son Marsel, 5th grade, and daughter Marisque, 3rd grade, were busy in the KIN Afterschool program when he walked in the door. They were both shocked to see him.
CPO Avila was working in Afghanistan for nine months. He is also a criminal justice teacher and wrestling coach at Johnson High School and plans to return to the classroom.
