Vaccines & Soccer, Larkspur students stay healthy

Larkspur Elementary School hosted a Flu Clinic for its students on Wednesday, Sept. 19. As a treat for the fifth graders, Olympic soccer gold medallist Brandi Chastain joined them to help motivate the students and encourage them to be healthy role models and leaders at Larkspur.

In addition to Chastain, students hear from Susan Del Toro, school principal; Dr. Thomas Schlenker, director of the Metropolitan Health District; and Anil Mangla, chief of epidemiology at Metro Health. Del Toro and Mangla each received their flu vaccine during the assembly.

Chastain led students, and even school administration, in a soccer clinic in the school's gym.

About 160 students were immunized on Wednesday.
