krueger gets a visit from harlem globetrotter
Krueger Middle School Falcons were visited by Harlem Globetrotter Cheese Chisolm on Jan. 17.
"Cheese” entertained the Falcons with some classic Globetrotter moves. Along with showing off his basketball skills, “Cheese” told the students that they can achieve their dreams by having “tunnel vision” and staying focused.
He also provided the students with the ABCs of anti-bullying. The letter “A” stands for action, the letter “B” for bravery and the letter “C” for compassion. The Globetrotters designed the program in coordination with the National Campaign to Stop Violence (NCSV). The program targets 6-12 year-old kids and involves Globetrotter players discussing these ABCs and tools that kids can use on a daily basis to reduce bullying. The Globetrotters equate what it means to be part of a team to how kids can offer support to one another to help stop bullying.
As an added treat, the Krueger Falcon Band, along with the Krueger Choir, performed the National Anthem at the Harlem Globetrotters game on Jan. 31, 2013 at the AT&T Center.
