Johnson hosts teen driving safety day
TIME: 11:45 a.m.
LOCATION: in front of cafeteria, johnson hs, 23203 bulverde road
Johnson High School is hosting a Teen Driving Safety Day on Feb. 20 to teach students how to avoid accidents on the road.
Students can get behind the wheel of a driving simulator and wear "drunk goggles". Students will be able to do obstacle courses and online driving programs.
Johnson student organizations and local companies will be on campus to hand out information reminding students to make safe driving choices.
Chief McManus and the San Antonio Police Department will make a presentation along with the San Antonio Fire Department, the New Braunfels Police Department, the Texas Department of Transportation, and Acadian Ambulance. Miss San Antonio will talk to students about not texting and driving.
Other participants include Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), NEISD Teen Driver Education Program, Texas Operation Lifesaver, Service King Collision Repair, AT&T, Teens in the Driver Seat , All State, Nationwide and State Farm and others. A local radio station will also be on campus to engage students with games.
