johnson winterguard wins at competition

Congratulations to Johnson High School Winterguard, who took first place in the Scholastic Open Class, at the Texas Colorguard Circuit Cedar Park Contest on Feb. 2.

The guard came out with a strong performance that had the crowd and judges alike a buzz through the remainder of the night, and competed against Cedar Park and Dripping Springs in their class. There were more than 45 scholastic guards at the contest including Reagan, James Bowie, Cedar Ridge, and many other strong programs.

The Johnson Winterguard's show is entitled "Secrets Reflected"and features the music of One Republic's SECRETS and some of the Bach Cello Suites. The show is exciting, audience friendly, and captivating as the members bring the music to life through choreography and exciting presentations with rifles and sabers. The Johnson Winterguard has developed a reputation nationwide for fresh and entertaining routines, and precision movement and equipment writing.

The guard competes next at the Winterguard International Regional in Houston, Texas on March 2, 2013.
