Johnson band hosts Holiday Dinner and Fundraiser
TIME: 5 - 7:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Johnson HS, Cafeteria, 23203 Bulverde Road
On Wednesday, December 12, the Johnson High School Band will host a Holiday Concert and Silent Auction/Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. The dinner begins at 5 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets are $8.
The Spaghetti Dinner will feature performances from multiple small ensembles comprised of members from the award-winning Johnson Band throughout the evening. The evening will conclude with the debut of the 2012-13 Jazz Band.
The dinner is “come and go as you please,” so guests are free to arrive and eat at any time to enjoy the music and a delicious, hot meal.
In addition, the band will offer a “to-go” service for anyone wishing to stop by and pick-up meals for home.
The event kicks off the Johnson Band’s Rose Parade Fundraising Campaign. The Johnson Band has been selected to participate in the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, on January 1, 2014. The total cost for the band to travel and perform in Pasadena is more than half a million dollars. All proceeds from the event go toward offsetting the travel and membership costs for the band members.
"The band will continue raising money through 2013, and hopes the San Antonio Community will come together to help with fundraising efforts," said Jarrett Lipman, band director.
