A Harvard University scholarship presentation will be made by the U.S. Navy during Johnson High School’s National Honor Society (NHS) meeting on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 4:15 in Johnson's library. About 80 NHS students will witness Commander John Lovejoy and Senior Chief Phillip Wygans, two representatives from the U.S. Navy, presenting Johnson Student Brooke Nowakowski with her scholarship. Nowakowski’s parents Dorothy and Edward will also be in attendance.

Nowakowski is one of the first students across the U.S. to receive a full, four-year paid education to Harvard University starting August 2012. Harvard just recently opened their ROTC program. The Navy will make the official presentation during Johnson’s NHS meeting.

Navy representatives in uniform and with a check will make the announcement and presentation to Nowakowski in front of about 80 students.
