Johnson Colorguard are champs of southwest region
Congratulations to the Johnson High School Winterguard (Indoor Colorguard) on taking home First Place and being named Scholastic Open Regional Champion at the Winterguard International (WGI) Southwest Regional Contest in Dallas, held March 16-17, 2013.
The guard competed in the two day regional during the final days of spring break, where they were lined up against the strongest guards from Texas and Oklahoma, and had two great performances at the University of North Texas Campus.
After a hugely successful start to their season, winning the Houston Regional (first qualifying contest), the guard swept the prelims and finals contest in Dallas this weekend. The guard competed against 8 guards in their classification, and over 40 at the contest overall.
After the regional, the guard held the highest composite score in their class in the United States, putting them in a great position as they head into World Championships in Dayton, Ohio on April 11-14, 2013.
