jackson running club completes 'color me rad' 5k run

Approximately 30 family members, teachers and students from Jackson Middle School participated in the San Antonio "Color Me Rad" 5K race on Dec. 2, 2012.

Members of the Jackson Running Club encouraged their families and teachers to run with them during the event. The Running Club is a new organization that started this school year. The students in the club are working concessions throughout the school year to raise funds to participate in other San Antonio races.

During the race, participants get "colored" along the course with sprays of multi-color (non-toxic) cornstarch. This fun 5K helps raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

"The next race is the San Antonio Birds of a Feather 5K Run on February 18. Participants will choose partners and run the race in pairs," said Jackson Principal Brian Hurley. "We look forward to expanding our Jackson running club each school year."
