World famous clarinetist visits Jackson band
Richard Stoltzman, one of the world's finest musicians, came to speak and demonstrate his skill for band students at Jackson Middle School on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Stoltzman was in San Antonio for a concert with the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio, and decided to take time to visit a few schools.
The students had the opportunity to listen hear Stoltzman talk about his experiences in music.
"This was a wonderful opportunity that the students will take with for years to come," said Kimberly Rosenberg, band director.
The Jackson Band would like to thank Troy Peters, Director of the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio for providing this opportunity.
The Jackson Band is currently 300 students strong and has consistently been a State Finalist in the TMEA Honor Band Competition, as well as a UIL Sweepstakes Winner for many years.
