Huebner fourth-grade choir kicks off the new year
The Huebner Elementary Music Department kicked off the year with an exciting performance from the fourth-grade choir. They presented a musical entitled “Compose Yourself.” In this show, students visit a museum to write a book report on famous composers. The composer statues come to life and share the magic of their music with the students. The students also shared their rap music with the composers.
Avery Ramirez did not know a lot about composers before the show. She was inspired to learn more. “I learned that there were different kinds of music and different time periods.”
Hannah Risman, who played the lead role of Beethoven, sang a haunting solo to the melody of the first movement of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. She really liked the show and shared, “I learned a lot about different people and how they were living.” Performing in front of the whole school was a daunting task for these little Huskies.
Kenny Strawn shared about the challenge, “It takes perseverance to be up there [on stage]. It takes a lot of courage to be up there in front of the whole school.”
Ben Malik felt that the singing was the best part of the show. He loved being a “Choir Star.” In a recent interview he reflected, “It was a very good experience. I want to join next year.”
The Huebner staff states " Hats off to the fourth-grade choir for their talent and hard work!"
