garner welcomes san antonio da susan reed

The Garner Middle School Counseling department hosted an Anti Bullying Rally on Nov. 2 to bring bullying awareness to its campus with the help of a very special guest.

The Garner administration, jazz band, art students, PALs, and 8th grade English Gifted and Talented student Kevin Sanchez made bullying presentations to the student body. The presentations were creative integrating music, technology, art work, and poetry.

Also, Garner partnered with MacArthur High School PALs and cheerleaders to bring bully awareness from the high school perspective.

"Our special guest speaker was Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed," said counselor Tiffany Johnson. "She gave an incredible presentation on how bullying can affect students beyond the classroom."

Garner's bullying theme for this school year is:
Garner says, "No to Bullying! Be a Upstander not Bystander!"
