Cub Scouts donate to Family Resource Center

On December 14, 2011, the Stone Oak Area Cub Scout Pack 9 and Pack 89 presented the McKinney-Vento Homeless Project and the School Age Parenting Program with $225 in assorted gift cards to support the immediate needs of at-risk students.

These gift cards will go toward the emergency purchase of clothing, food, hygiene and other items. Donations of this type are critical in the assistance of students in need as they provide an immediate resource.

"The McKinney-Vento Homeless Project and the School Age Parenting Program are very thankful for the donation and look forward to the continued collaboration with local organizations and groups," said Tyler Shoesmith, director of Family Support Services and Dropout Prevention.
