Encino Park Elementary receives a face lift
On Saturday, Oct. 22 Encino Park had a campus clean up event that brought more than 200 people together to beautify the grounds and have some fun. PTA grounds chairman Robbie McMahon, owner of Elite Landscaping, provided leadership to the project.
McMahon met with district officials to create the scope and vision for the project. Through the financial support of the PTA and donations from area businesses, every flower bed on the campus received new soil, mulch, crushed granite and was dressed with xeriscaping foliage. Elite Landscaping donated machinery, materials, time and man power and installed water saving drip system to support the trees and the new foliage.
McMahon’s vision could not have been completed without a lot of "Helping Hands." The Encino Park Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints provided more than 100 volunteers, local boy scout packs, community members and students and parents from Encino Park provided their time and efforts to make this project a reality.
To help keep the younger kids busy, the PTA Arts chair provided an Arts and Craft pumpkin project. The PTA also provided snacks and water throughout the morning
