eisenhower student named a top scorer by duke TIP
Nicholas Nunnery, 7th grader at Eisenhower Middle School, was named a top scorer by the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP).
Nicholas received a medal at Duke University May 19 for scoring among the top three percent of participants on the ACT.
Students must score at the 95th percentile level of grade-level standardized test to be invited to participate. Of the top 5%, about 65,000 7th graders across 14 states chose to participate and take either the ACT or SAT.
Nicholas scored a 30 on the English part of the ACT. That qualified him for the Grand Ceremony reception at Cameron Indoor Stadium at Duke University. He will also be honored at a State Recognition Ceremony at Trinity University on May 29.
Nicholas has qualified to participate in the Center for Summer Studies, a 3-week residential camp held on various university campuses across the country.
