IKE's Big Day, Eisenhower celebrates 50 years
TIME: noon - 4 p.m.
LOCATION: Eisenhower MS, Football Field
Eisenhower Middle School will hold its annual celebration of Dwight D. Eisenhower's birthday, in conjunction with the school's 50th anniversary. The IKE's Big Day & 50th Anniversary Celebration will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, noon - 4 p.m. on the school's football field.
Admission to event is free and open to the community. Activities include cupcakes, student kickball games, special military equipment and a Blackhawk helicopter displays, Bungie Run, Dunking Booth ($1) and Obstacle Course. School organization booths with goods to sell will be set up, along with a concession truck.
The celebration will be enhanced by performances from Ike band, orchestra, choir and theatre arts, as well as a 'shout out' to Ike sports teams and other student organizations. Huebner and Larkspur elementary school students will also take part in performances for the day.The Churchill High School drumline and spirit group will also lend their talents to the day's festivities.
A special presentation will be made to commemorate the 50th anniversary.
