Eisenhower Library wins $20K
Eisenhower Middle School was named the second place winner in the Follett Challenge earning the school $20,000 to implement new library services and technology.
Eisenhower applied to the Follett Challenge, a contest created by Follett Corporation to recognize and reward school libraries for their work applying technology, content and creativity in ways that engage students, foster literacy and promote critical thinking.
Eisenhower’s video entitled “The 21st Century Learning Libratory” (Library + Laboratory) highlights this communal learning space offering emergent media and resources with the opportunity to investigate, integrate, innovate, and interact.
“Our library is instrumental to the success of our students,” said Teresa Diaz, Librarian at Eisenhower. “Winning means we can provide our students with the latest technologies that will help them be even more successful as 21st century learners, both inside and outside the classroom.”
